The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a non-partisan, political
organization that encourages citizens' informed and active participation
in government, and influences the public policy through education
and advocacy. Membership is open to anyone who subscribes to the
policy of the League.
In Pinellas County, Florida, there are two local
leagues - the North Pinellas County League of Women Voters and the
St. Petersburg Area League of Women Voters. (The dividing line between
"North" and "St. Petersburg" is Ulmerton Road.) To learn more about
